The reverberating & pulsating cacophonic sounds of bugles, drums & cymbals herald another exciting leg of the 2019 Alphaland National Executive Grand Prix Chess Championships sponsored by the booming construction outfit of noted UST High School & College varsity chessplayer Eng’r. Carlos Villarias, Jr. based in Silang, Cavite.
The CVJR BUILDERS LEG will be the fifth edition (Season 2) of this nationwide, region-hopping Executive spectacle that caught the local chess world by storm.
Main advocacy is to foster camaraderie among Executives of the entire country & to become the role model of the young generation of budding chessplayers now sprouting in all the nooks & corners of the Archipelago. It will be held anew at the 2nd Floor of the Alphaland Place Makati brought by the hyperactive Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA).
The main attraction of this event is the two division Grand Prix format wherein a participant gain Grand Prix points depending on his performance in a particular leg he played aside of course to the huge amount of cash prizes offered by the Association .
The Top 4 in each division every leg will likewise advance to the cash-rich Grand Finals set in breathtaking Boracay on November 16 & 17 in gorgeous Casa Pilar resort in Boat Station 2.

Melzar Galicia (13).
In the Challengers Division (Group , the Top Ten in the Grand Prix standings are banker & PECA Press Relation Officer Emmanuel Asi (40 pts.), accountant Roberto Manguiob (39), NCFP Director & PECA Screening Committee chairman Martin Gaticales (36), Mr. Cris Cuntapay (34), Eng’r. Jay Arcenal (33), Mr. Orlando Pascual (33), Mr. Michael Renz Canonoy (31), Mr. Nemesio Orlina III (25) & Mr. Roman Espiso (24) in a tie with Eng’r. Mark Oliver Ingcad (24).

The 16 Grand Finalists in the Challengers Division ( Group B ) so far are Asi, Manguiob, Gaticales, Arcenal, Pascual, Tambong, Orlina, Ingcad, Mr. Eric Abanco, Mr. Felix Aguilera, Mr. Leonilo Raul Villate, Mr. Patrick Panaligan, Atty. Rodrigo Aquino, weather forecaster Theseus Benitez of La Carlota City in Negros Occidental, Mr. Mark Sylvester Tachagon of Bacolod City & Mr. Lemon Magoliman of Guimaras. We are now looking for the 75 Diamond Men of PECA in both Divisions.
60 finalists will be sieved from the Top 4 of every leg (×15) & the Top 15 in the Grand Prix standings for those non -Top 4 qualifiers to make it 75.
