Jake Cuenca, a regular triathlon campaigner, and fellow Stag Magic artists Enchong Dee and Iñigo Pascual take time out from their hectic shoot schedules to lead the Sun Life Cycle PH at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig tomorrow (Saturday).
SunPiology founder Piolo Pascual and triathlete Matteo Guidicelli, along with Yong Muhajil, Janus del Prado, Sarah Carlos, Kisses Delavin, Ysabel Ortega and Tommy Esguerra are also seeing action in the non-competitive event put up by Sunrise Events, Inc. to promote a healthy lifestyle through cycling.
The sport is a healthy, low-impact exercise, which can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. It improves not only one’s mental well-being but also promotes weight loss and cuts heart disease and cancer risk, among others.
To spice up the event, organizers will raffle off a brand new 2019 Trek Marlin 5 bike among participants in the Kids Ride, Short Ride (20K) and Long Ride (40K) categories around Taguig, Makati, Manila and Pasay.
The event, also held to promote family bonding, will be launched at SEDA BGC Hotel today (Friday) to be graced by three-time Tour de France green jersey winner Robbie McEwen and SEI founder Wilfred Uytengsu.
The 40km ride has lured over 600 riders while the 20km and kids categories have drawn 392 and 100 participants, respectively. Gun start for the 40km ride is at 6 a.m. to be followed by the 20km ride at 6:20 a.m. and the kids ride at 8:30 a.m. Also on tap are the tricycle rides for kids at 9:45 a.m.
Online listup is ongoing. For details, log on to www.sunlife.cycleph.com.
The event, backed by Sun Life, BGC, Taguig, F2P, 2GO, Alcoplus, Cetaphil, Sanicare, Shopee, Trek, Storck, Skippy’s and Regent and supported by media partners Cignal and The Philippine Star, also serves as part of the SunPIOLOgy, which will bring its run leg to four Asian cities while holding three other sports to highlight its milestone 10th year.
After the Sun Life Cycle PH, the Manila edition of the Sun Life Resolution Run with the SunPIOLOgy Tr10 will be held before the Sun Life employees and the Star Magic artists clash in badminton, volleyball and basketball on Jan. 26, 2019 at Camp Aguinaldo in QC in a match billed as Sun vs Stars.
