“Just deport him,” said Foreign Affairs secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. of actor Tony Labrusca in reaction to the reported commotion that the latter caused at the airport recently.
The actor, who incidentally carries an American passport, allegedly shouted at an immigration official after he was only granted a 30-day stay in the country. Labrusca has since issued a public apology, saying that he was “unaware” of the policy that “because I was not with my mother, I did not qualify for a Balikbayan stamp.”
Labrusca’s apology came after Bureau of Immigration secretary Jaime Morente issued a statement on the issue. The actor’s mom, singer and events host Angel Jones, also took to Twitter to air her sentiments.
“I’m laughing at the misinformed people spreading hate and fake stories as if they were there. Thank you for all the PR! Underdog always end the best,“ Jones declared.
Netizens continue to air their opinion on the issue. (Report by Daisy Liezel Cuison)
