“Sobrang encouraging. Of course, sasabihin n’ya kung pangit. Madami s’ya opinyon ‘pag ayaw n’ya pero dito sa ‘Kuya Wes’ wala naman s’yang sinabing nega,” said singer-actor Ogie Alcasid when asked how Piolo Pascual was a one of the producers of the James Mayo drama.
The film, which was reedited after it premiered at the 2018 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, recently had a special screening at the UP Cine Adarna in Quezon City.
“Kuya Wes” is a production of Spring Films, which is celebrating its 10th year in 2019. It is kicking off with the commercial release of “Kuya Wes” on March 13.
A story caught between transactions and true love, a hopelessly naive remittance clerk becomes infatuated with and helps a beautiful customer in her time of need as his relationship with his younger brother spirals into disarray.
