“I’m so new dito sa medium ng pelikula. Ang acting ko ay puro sa theater. Parang kinakabahan ako,” said singer-actress Rachel Alejandro on how it was working on Matthew Rosen’s historical film “Quezon’s Game.”
“So what I did was, I just became an open vessel. Basically, I didn’t think of what was wrong or right. I just took all of what Matthew told me to do, took everything that Raymond (Bagatsing, lead actor) suggested–with no pride or whatsoever–and just did it,” Rachel declared.
Helmed by Rosen, who has been directing for 36 years and winning awards for his work on commercials and music video, “Quezon’s Game” stars Raymond as former president Manuel L. Quezon and Rachel as his wife Aurora.
The film revolves on the hidden chapter of Quezon’s life. It explores the time when he, together with his comrades, rescued Jewish refugees from the ghettos of Germany and Austria in 1938.
“Quezon’s Game“ bagged 23 awards, including the excellence in acting trophies for Raymond and Rachel. Produced by Star Cinema and Kinetek, “Quezon’s Game“ opens on May 29 in cinemas nationwide.
