“Bago ako maka move-on, I need to see it myself… Kailangan ko pa talaga madurog bago ako maka move-on,” declared actor JM de Guzman when asked how he was able to relate to his character Paulo in his latest movie, “Last Fool Show.”
JM works alongside Arci Munoz in this romantic comedy directed by Eduardo Roy Jr. It premieres in cinemas on April 10.
At the press conference, Arci kept teasing JM to fellow Kapamilya artist Ria Atayde. But when JM was asked what the real score was between them, the actor resorted to telling a joke. “Hindi ko nga maintindihan eh. Gutom lang ‘to! May pagkain ba kayo?” said JM, referring to Arci, who kept telling reporters that Ria is one of JM’s “best friends.”
“Hindi totoo ‘yong mga tsismis. Close friends tayong lahat,” Arci quipped.
JM and Arci have been close friends since they took up Theater Arts at the University of the Philippines in Quezon City. That was around 2005, when they worked behind the scenes, fixed costumes and props that were going to be used in their theater play.
“Last Fool Show” marks the duo’s first project together. It revolves around Mayessa (Arci) who is given a chance of her lifetime to work on her dream project. She gets tasked to make a romantic-comedy movie as her first project, but she has no idea how to do one. Hesitantly, she and her friends come up with the idea of turning her own love story with her ex -boyfriend, Paulo (JM), into a movie.
Joining the cast are Jaymee Katanyag, Alora Sasam, Via Antonio, Vj Mendoza, Chamyto Aguedan, Kris Janson, Victor Silayan, Erin Ocampo, Pat Sugui, Cholo Barretto, Josef Elizalde, Menggie Cobarrubias, Gina Alajar, Arlene Mulach and Bibeth Orteza.
“Last Fool Show” is produced by Abs-Cbn Films-Star Cinema, N² and Emba.
