Hong Kong martial artist and actor Jackie Chan is back on the big screen via “The Knight of Shadows: Between Yin and Yang.”
The action-fantasy epic tells the story of Songling (Chan), a demon hunter whose goal is to defend humanity from an inhuman invasion. When an evil force starts kidnapping village girls to feast on their souls, he sets out to save them as he teams up with police detective Fei, played by Austin Lei, and a group of friendly monsters.
“The Knight of Shadows” is helmed by up-and-coming filmmaker Jia Lu, also known as Vash, who has been known for his works in the 2010 film “Batman: Under the Red Hood” with its visual effects, and in the 2014 3D film “Bugs” as director.
Also part of the cast are Elaine Zhong, Li Peng and Ethan Juan. Its producer, Kiefer Liu, is one of the pioneers of 3D films in China. He created the very successful “The Monkey King.”
“The Knight of Shadows” opens on Feb. 6 in cinemas nationwide. (Report by Daisy Liezel Cuison)
