“May naging lamat, but it’s better now. Nakakangiti na kami sa isa’t isa,” said Elisse Joson, lead actress of the movie “Sakaling Maging Tayo,” during the press conference on Jan. 5 at Dong Juan Restaurant in Quezon City.
Elisse and onscreen partner McCoy de Leon met and grew close to each other while participating in the reality show “Pinoy Big Brother.” Reports have it that the two stopped speaking to each other after the 2018 ABS-CBN Ball, which they attended togther. The reason was that Elisse’s mom does not like McCoy for her daughter.
In an interview, the young actress said it was just natural for parents to be protective of their children, “but that’s really not the whole thing. it’s not even half of the story.”
This month, Elisse and McCoy (collectively known as McLisse) are reunited in the romantic drama by JP Habac. Shot entirely in Baguio City, it tells of one night in the lives of Pol and Laya. The two play a game of dares–from eating exotic food to getting a random tattoo, to confessing their deep, dark secrets. Little do they know that the dares will eventually force them to confront their personal issues and encourage them to start a romantic relationship.
The film, which will hit cinemas on Jan. 16, also stars Bembol Roco, Paulo Angeles, Markus Patterson, Milo Elmido Jr. and Chai Fonacier.
The film’s soundtrack also features tunes from artists Moira dela Torre, KZ Tandingan, Johnoy Danao and Ang Bandang Shirley. (Report By Daisy Liezel Cuison)
