MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday called on residents affected by water service interruption in various areas to stay calm.
“We ask our fellow Filipinos who are in long queues of water rationing to keep calm. Everybody who is in the queues will get their own share of water supply. Let us all maintain order during these moments,” PNP spokesperson, Col. Bernard Banac, told reporters on Tuesday.
Banac also said PNP personnel are ready to assist local government units and communities in the distribution of water being conducted by concessionaire Manila Water and fire trucks of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
On Sunday, Manila Water released an updated list of areas in some parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces that will have little to no water supply in the coming days.
The agency explained the water supply interruptions are caused by the operational adjustments they are conducting to address the continuous decline of La Mesa Dam’s water level.
The concessionaire said water service interruptions may persist until the rains come and the water levels in these dams return to suitable levels. (PNA)
