“Hindi po ako Senador… kaya huwag po ako ang bakbakan n’yo. Nagtatrabaho lang ako. Gusto ko lang masaya ang mga tao. Gusto ko lang makapagbigay ng magandang entertainment. Kaya, mahal kong kababayan, bigyan n’yo po ako ng break,” said Robin Padilla who plays the titular role in the biopic “Bato: The General Ronald dela Rosa Story.”
It comes as no suprise how the country’s top action icon has been tapped to play the role, with his menacing stare and hard-hitting action stunts. Robin fits the role.
What makes Robin and General dela Rosa similar? “Takot sa asawa,” Padilla shares with reporters during a recent media gathering to promote the film that hits cinemas tomorrow, Jan. 30. “Sabi n’ya hanggang 4 stars lang s’ya eh, ‘yong asawa n’ya 5-star General.”
Joining the cast are Beauty Gonzalez, Alvin Anson, Archie Alemania, Chanel Morales, Efren Reyes, Gardo Versoza, Gina Alajar, Jess Mendoza, Joko Diaz, Jun Hidalgo, Kiko Estrada, Kiko Matos, Manuel Chua, Marx Topacio, Menggie Cobarrubias, Mon Confiado, Polo Ravales and Ricky Davao.
The film, directed by Adolf Alix Jr., is produced by ALV Films and Benchingko Films, and distributed by Regal Entertainment.
