“‘Pag nakita n’yo ang story ng ‘Mea Culpa’ medyo nag-tone down na, very wholesome na ako. (For the longest time) ‘yon ang image ko–sexy, shirtless–so pati ako nandidiri na rin sa sarili ko ‘pag nakikita ko na lagi na lang akong shirtless,” said Tony Labrusca of his new role in the latest ABS-CBN mystery-drama series “Sino ang May Sala? Mea Culpa.”
“I’m happy that I’m trying different things. I’m happy with my character,” he added. The series, which also features Jodi Sta. Maria, Bela Padilla, Ivana Alawi, Kit Thompson, Sandino Martin and Ketchup Eusebio, premiered on the small screen on April 19.
Tony is an actor, recording artist and commercial model, who first gained popularity via commercial for a multi-national fastfood chain titled “Tuloy Pa Rin,” released in 2019.
He is the son of actor Boom Labrusca and singer Angel Jones. He was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Los Angeles, California in the United States. He was 9 when he moved to Vancouver, Canada, with his mother, sister, and step-father (Boom Dayupay; former member of Kulay).
In 2016, he joined the Filipino talent search “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” and became part of the horror-fantasy drama “La Luna Sangre.” The trailer of his latest film, “Glorious,” with Angel Aquino, reached more than 5 million views on its first day of release.
“Sino ang May Sala? Mea Culpa,” a Dreamscape drama, is inspired by the American drama series “How to Get Away with Murder.”
